Welcome back to our Life at LetsGetChecked series, a sequence of features that offer insight into what it’s really like to work at LetsGetChecked.

This week, we spoke with Aoife Quigley, our Registered Nurse. Aoife began working in LetsGetChecked near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and was drawn to the companies motivation to transform the way people engage with their health; “I thought to myself, due to the current pandemic situation, more and more people will be looking to use home testing as a means of optimizing their health. The fact that LetsGetchecked was able to deliver results and empower customers to live longer healthier lives, really appealed to me.”

When did you join LetsGetChecked?

I joined LetsGetChecked just over 9 months ago.

What is your current role at LetsGetChecked?

I am a Registered Nurse.

Why did you join LetsGetChecked?

I joined LetsGetChecked when the COVID-19 pandemic situation really ‘kicked off’. I was looking for a new challenge and wanted to expand my knowledge and skill set. I came across a LetsGetChecked job opening and immediately I was drawn to this company and how it is transforming the way people engage with their health. I thought to myself, due to the current pandemic situation, more and more people will be looking to use home testing as a means of optimizing their health. The fact that LetsGetchecked was able to deliver results and empower customers to live longer healthier lives, really appealed to me.

How would you describe a typical day as a Nurse at LetsGetChecked?

Busy, fast-paced, extremely varied, full of customer interaction with the delivery of customer results - which may be in many different forms - email, phone calls, not to mention observations face to face - on screen interaction - where the nurses observe families and minors for our COVID-19 testing programs.

As a LetsGetChecked nurse, good teamwork is essential, and constant communication (especially as we work from home) is an important part of your job. Fantastic communication channels exist between the nurse team and the greater care team. We also have bi-weekly nurse meetings and regular check-ins with team leads where we discuss recent updates/protocol changes, new programs, tests, software, company growth, and more.

This company is growing and evolving so fast there are always new challenges, learning opportunities, new goals, which I love. At LetsGetChecked you really develop a wealth of knowledge and new skills in many different areas.

What do you like most about the LetsGetChecked nursing team?

I love the amazing team that we have. Each and every one of these amazing nurses and doctors is fantastic and bring something different to the table. There is never a day I don’t have a question or need help doing a particular task and there is always someone jumping at the opportunity to help.

Although based in Ireland, I feel as close to the U.S. nursing team as I do the Irish and we all support each other and remain very connected despite the fact we are all currently working from home. In fact, have never met any of my colleagues in person, but I feel like I know them well! Everyone is extremely hard-working, positive, and helpful all the while supported by our technical team (who are excellent at what they do) to make sure we stay ‘connected.’

Do you have any favorite customer success stories from your time at LetsGetChecked?

I think a big success story here is those people who would have had regular screening, tests through the national screening programs, or regular blood work with their GP for a variety of reasons - these services have been greatly affected by the pandemic: delayed, halted, or simply inaccessible.
LetsGetChecked can play a key role in these people's lives by providing tests that can be performed from the safety of the home. Knowledge is power and with LetsGetChecked the customer is able to continuously track and monitor their health from home with a dedicated care team close by every step of the way.
