Welcome back to our Life at LetsGetChecked series, a sequence of features that offer insight into what it’s really like to work at LetsGetChecked.

This week, we spoke with Marjorie ‘MJ’ Seide, our Registered Nurse. Once working as a Case Manager, Marjorie regularly worked with patients who were unable to access the healthcare they needed for reasons beyond their control. After spotting a LetsGetChecked kit in her local store, the companies mission made a lasting impression; “These kits would have been instrumental in helping them. So, when I first saw this kit at a CVS I was impressed. Before I knew it, LetsGetChecked was hiring and I jumped at the chance to be part of an innovative company.”

When did you join LetsGetChecked?

I joined LetsGetChecked in September 2019.

What is your current role at LetsGetChecked?

I am a Registered Nurse.

Why did you join LetsGetChecked?

I love LetsGetChecked’s mission. I used to work as a Case Manager and I had a lot of patients who were unable to get to their doctor’s appointments due to transportation and other reasons beyond their control. The easy access to these kits to check their Cholesterol, Diabetes, Thyroid would have made their care much easier. At times delays to their lab works caused a lot of delay in care. These kits would have been instrumental in helping them. So, when I first saw this kit at a CVS I was impressed. Before I knew it, LetsGetChecked was hiring and I jumped at the chance to be part of an innovative company. Allowing testing from the comforts of your own home: a win, win!

How would you describe a typical day as a Nurse at LetsGetChecked?

I work the evening shifts. I am able to assist in many areas as we take incoming calls to assist customers with their needs. I provide them with the same type of care I would want to receive. Educate them on LetsGetChecked kits and how to obtain labs by giving them needed tips. Even though it's all done through a phone call, you feel connected and you ensure they get the best possible care.

It's fast-paced, but you help so many people especially during this pandemic. So many have no access to their doctor’s offices due to the lockdowns but with LetsGetChecked kits, we can provide them with results.

What do you like most about the LetsGetChecked nursing team?

We work as a team, never leave anyone behind. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service and education and I love being part of something that I know makes a difference. When you can help someone with their health and guide them - it’s the best feeling.

Do you have any favorite customer success stories from your time at LetsGetChecked?

Yes! I had a customer who purchased a Standard 5 and didn’t get results for the blood portion of her test as she forgot to send it in. When asked if she wanted to retest her response was “I'll stand on my head for 3 minutes first [to get the blood flowing] - after all, I'm only 85!” Love it, she had a great sense of humor.
